Police: Stepfather Admits Beating 3-Year-Old Girl

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Albuquerque police said a 3-year-old girl fighting for her life is the victim of abuse.

The girl's stepfather, Matthew Floyd, was arrested and charged with child abuse.Police said Floyd called 911 and said his stepdaughter had fallen off a toilet and was unconscious.Police said the girl was brought to a hospital with fractures in her spine and hematomas. Doctors said she may not survive.Floyd confessed to the abuse when police said the girl's injuries didn't mesh with his story, investigators said.
