San Juan County deputies said a man impersonated a cop and tried to rape a woman.
However, police said Eric Kenneth allowed the victim take a picture of his face.
Deputies said Kenneth, 29, flashed his headlights to pull over a woman on U.S. 64 near Farmington.
He told the woman she needed to take a field sobriety test.
Kenneth was wearing plain clothes and the woman assumed he was undercover, police said.
Deputies said Kenneth put on a mask, pulled a knife and tried to rape the woman.
For some reason he stopped.
At that point, the woman asked to take his picture with his mask off.
He agreed, deputies said.
Kenneth was later arrested.
