Leopold's attorneys sought sanctions against John Singleton for circulating a draft of the lawsuit to the media, among other accusations, but a U.S. District Judge last month declined to impose penalties.
In March, a different U.S. District Judge threw out a sexual harassment case filed against Singleton by a former client who had hired him to pursue a sexual harassment charge against her boss. The client is attempting, for a second time, to file a legal malpractice claim against Singleton. The first such claim was also dismissed in March.
