Governor Susana Martinez announced that 200 new jobs will soon be coming to Santa Teresa.
TE Connectivity, an international electronics manufacturer will bring the jobs from El Paso, TX to the New Mexico town just south of Las Cruces.
It's unclear what type of jobs TE Connectivity will offer.
"They're going to bring approximately 200 of their jobs that are currently in El Paso to New Mexico, and that is very exciting because other companies can start seeing New Mexico as a very friendly place," Martinez said.
TE Connectivity serves customers in consumer electronics, energy, health care and aerospace.
Santa Teresa has seen a lot of economic development recently.
Last week, NRG Energy, a New Jersey based company, opened the Roadrunner Solar Generating Station.
The 210-acre, 20-megawatt solar plant brought more than 200 construction jobs to the area.
In August, Union Pacific announced it would invest $400 million to build a new rail yard in Santa Teresa.
Officials said that project is expected to bring 3,000 construction jobs and 600 permanent jobs when completed.
Santa Teresa is in Dona Ana County where Gov. Martinez served as a district attorney prosecutor before she was elected governor.
