A man pulled out a knife and attempted to stab several Occupy Wall Street protesters at the University of New Mexico on Friday.

Albuquerque Police Department Sgt. Patrick Ficke said Miguel Aguirre, 48, was arrested after he reportedly attempted to stab protesters at Camp Coyote near Yale and Central.

No one was hurt.

Aguirre talked with KOB Eyewitness News as he sat handcuffed in the back of a police car.

He said he was angry at the protesters but denied brandishing a knife at anyone.

?They have no business being here man,? Aguirre said.?I told them to leave and get out.?

Protesters reported that Aguirre appeared intoxicated, confrontational and at one point exposed a six to eight inch blade.

?He was just yelling at us saying go home saying get a job and just acting against us in a violent way,? Nick Uccan said.

Police said Aguirre fled when they arrived.

?He threatened them with a knife, and then I think what happened is he actually saw the officer driving down the street and then he started running across here,? Ficke said.

Police said they found Aguirre, as well as a four or five inch blade, at the McDonald?s parking lot across the street from the protester?s camp.

According to APD, he was tased after he refused several commands from officers.

Three different victims identified Aguirre as the attempted stabbing suspect.

Police said there are more possible victims.

?The fact that someone wants to come in here and act with violence and bring a weapon it?s just uncalled for,? said Uccan.

Aguirre faces four counts of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest charges.

He told police he was recruited to play basketball for UNM in the 1980s and confronted the protesters as a service to the university.

He admitted that he was on a drinking binge, police said.
