MEXICO CITY ? Mexico?s army has arrested two alleged members of the Zetas drug cartel suspected of helping set a casino fire that killed 52 people in the northern city of Monterrey.
The army presented the two men to the media on Monday. A masked army spokesman who did not give his name for security reasons said one of the men was in charge of carrying gasoline containers into the Casino Royale for the Aug. 25 attack.
Gunmen entered the casino, spread gasoline and set the building on fire, trapping and asphyxiating dozens. Officials say the motive was extortion of the casino owners.
Authorities have now arrested 15 suspects in the case. Four others remain at large.
